Russell Boulevard, which runs along the north edge of UC Davis, is wall to wall fraternities. Decorated with those huge mystical-looking greek letters (this one is Chi Phi, apparently one of the older national frats in the US), frat houses act as a kind of outer-rim to any typical American campus (and UC Davis is very much how you imagine an American campus to look like; it's just like the movies, as they say). I didn't watch those movies personally, but you know what I mean.

There is a beautiful clarity to your drawings. I like that big tree in the foreground.
thank you James!
wow. these are fantastic!!
thanks for posting them.
Pete,
You really have a handle on this sketching thing. I admire your work!
Great composition. I like the trees out of the frame.
New hobby - finding your locations on streetview - had to go on the Chi Phi website to get the address of this one at 217 russell, then found the 217 is almost legible on your sketch. Street view is quite accurate but not as sharp as the sketch.

Never having been in the USA - or watching the films - I had no idea this strange marking-thing existed. Your drawings are remarkable.
