Victoria and Juan de Fuca straight from Moss Hill park

Panoramic sketch looking out from Moss Hill park in Victoria.
Below the wonderful prismatic light in that freezing sky are the Olympic mountains marching west along the horn of Washington State to the open Pacific, the Sooke hills rolling inland into Vancouver Island, and the Straight of Juan de Fuca between them. The lucky waterfront homeowners of Victoria look south over this scene every day with it's changing light and moods. From brilliant uplifting sunshine sparkling over the waters in summer, to some lonely fogged in winter days.
This sketch better than any I have done captures the glory of the setting of Victoria in it's unspoiled northern pacific location.
A bit further on past these Sooke hills one summer day I was fishing from some rocks and saw a pod of Killer Whales swim by within about 75 feet of me - pretty cool !
