sweet fanny ann's

fanny ann's saloon, old town sac
Fanny Ann's Saloon in old town Sacramento. It was bucketing down with rain while I was in Sac doing some Christmas shopping, so I took refuge in the pub. Well I could have taken refuge anywhere, in fact I got a lot wetter making it here, but this is still a better place to take refuge, because it is warm, sells beer, and there is a lot to draw. It is full of paraphernalia of the Gold Rush era town that Sac once was. It also has, strangely, loads of old railway signs from old British train stations, alongside old US license plates decorating the walls. It's an eclectic place, and a little touristy. But like I say, it does good beer, and they're friendly.
Merry Christmas everybody, everywhere! Pete

This one really makes me want to take refuge in the pub. What a fascinating sketch!
