Sketching live from Seattle...

I got an iPhone for my birthday and, you guessed it, I'm like a kid with a new toy. Now @seattlesketcher Twitter followers can get my live sketch reports from the field! This is how I do it: I adopt Pete Scully's signature pose holding the sketchbook, open the Twitterrific app, select the tweet photo option, take the snapshot, hit send and, voilà, the world can see my sketch instantly.

Now I just have to make sure my iPhone doesn't run out of battery, which is what happened this evening. I had to wait until I got home to tweet this self-portrait I did during my commute home.

I know other urban sketchers who are already using Twitter to share their location drawings. Make sure to follow @qlines (Bangkok), @marceloj (Guarulhos, Brazil) and @typeizcrazy (Toronto). We've been using the hashtag #sketchoftheday.

Gabi, I LOVE the second sketch - great combination of strokes, shapes and letters, very fresh and alive!

thanks gabi for the update of your new toy!
i've been posting both sketches and photos under "qlines" name but mail to twitpic.com (also appear on twitter.com) since i am not using iphone at the moment.

can any one please advise if iphone IS the only toy for sketchers on the go? i am holding back getting HERO by HTC and dying to know if i can paint (as good as brush+iphone) with HTC.

i'd go out te get HERO the minute i am ascertained that HTC can also paint too, thanks a lot. (any one have more comments on painting with phone other than iphone, please, thanks)
