I live in a terrific small city with a lot of our history intact...more or less. Much work has been done on restoration, including the house we're rehabbing and hope to make into a research library/gallery/watercolor museum. We were an old spa town back in the 19th and much of the 20th C., and many of the old buildings, homes, boarding houses and wells still exist.
SO last night we attended the latest Historical Preservation Planning Meeting to identify our assets, resources, and goals...lots of enthusiasm, but where do we go now...?
This was fun to do a bit of reportage sketching with a Pentel Pocketbrush--a little gouache for color when I got home...

The pen looks great- so fluid and looks like you had fun with it!
Nice sketch Kate.
I'm all for restoration of quality historic architecture - that sense of history and place is irreplaceable.
Best of luck with the new library/gallery/museum, sounds like a great idea!
