I had this building in several sketches, mostly on Bangkok's sky line. The building is rather difficult to miss, unless you are some where close to it! Bai Yok 2 is the country's tallest building at some 300 meter tall, excluding the 20 meter or so tall antenna. This 85 storeys building was built some 10 years ago, home to Bai Yok Sky Hotel, tallest in Southeast Asia, restaurants, bar, observatory lounge, etc.
I could see this building from my resident, miles away, on some bad weather days, Bai Yok 2 would magically disappear from view, together with several other buildingsaround it, just like magic! But otherwise, it is just irrisistible!
I am posting this Tallest In Thailand so that you could, perhaps, "See The World, One Drawing At A Time" as said in USk. It is my small way to say thank you, USk, for giving us The Sketches Of The World At One Place!
Congratulations and let's celebrate on USk's 1st Anniversary, today (1 Nov 2009)
Same day, next year, I would like to come back for your pleasure with another of Thailand's ---est, hope you'd like it!

Urban Sketchers has a custom Moleskine sketchbook. Would you like one?
We have a limited supply of the sketchbooks created for the recent Symposium that we are offering in exchange for a minimum donation of $25 to our nonprofit (we'll cover shipping to any country). To secure your notebook, click on the red 'support urban sketchers' button on the right sidebar. More information.
