Marranzano World Festival

This weekend I got the opportunity to visit some events from the Marranzano World Festival in Catania. The Marranzano is a tipical sicilian musical instrument.

The aim of the festival is to show rare and traditional instruments from arround the world. In this edition the festival's focus was the "Zampogna" , another sicilian air instrument. There were many traditional music/dance performances and workshops during the month. On Friday I watched a concert in the castello Ursino's courtyard.

There was a great atmosphere, the music was contagious and people danced in groups. There was so much energy that when that castle was closed some musicians kept playing outside
