Drawing with students in the ancient Naples

I'm giving some lessons at the Faculty of Architecture - Urban studies department, in Naples. It's a "first aid" drawing course for beginners and I am trying to make new Urban Sketchers out of my students!

These are my pages during the first open-air session, drawing an unfamous part of the city, the Quartieri Spagnoli. A bit "academical" drawings, just to show the students how to draw fast, to add notes to the sketches, what to observe and why (in orange: private use of public spaces), how to make interviews to people. After only one hour, they where exhausted. But it has been a good start.

There is a video of the square here and other images of ours sketchbooks on Flickr, where the students themselves will learn how to upload their images. Posts on my blog here.

I wish I could have done your course before fumbling my way through urban sketching!
