Bamako, Mali

After two days travelling non stop in a Renault 21. I had the pleasure of reaching the capital of Mali, Bamako.I din't expected it to be so green but the river Niger passes through slicing the city in two.

I crossed the bridge "le pont des martirs" twice by foot and my head went spinning with the flow of "mobillettes", cars and small buses that kept passing as if in a loop. By the end of the afternoon the city is covered in a cloud of polution that makes it difficult to breath.

The reason for my visit was to meet other artists an local craftmen that woul be interested to travel to Nouakchott, Mauritania to exhibit their work at Galerie Sinaa which I joined two months ago. Unfortunetly I had to get back earlier and had only five days in town but I'm hoping to go back another time.

Isabel, your trip sounds like a real adventure.
Great sketches - best of luck finding artists for your exhibition.

Isabel, as usual your chronicles are a real delight not only because of the beautiful sketches but also from the human point of view; they are always full of life.
