Now that the winter rains are here, I like how this sketch takes me back to the beautiful sunny weather this past September in Portugal.
This is the cathedral in Lisbon, sketched and coloured very quickly around sunset (I think my watch was still on Madrid time as noted on the sketch).
I like how I managed to catch a bit of the setting sun's luminosity in the stone. Light effects are the hardest element to catch for me.
Nothing like a sketch to re-live a moment.

Ilove the contrast of the white space on rt with the vivid blue.it really pops the entir piece.
Very nice sketch Matthew. The term "lusco-fusco" shows very well the light of the begining of the night in Lisbon.
