Hi, it's Margaret!
I've posted this drawing on www.reportageillustrators.com. I had a few minutes last Saturday so I stopped by the park to see what National Pigeon Day, June 13, in Central Park was all about. There was a small band of dedicated pigeon lovers paying homage to the feral pigeon. It was really very sweet. There were songs sung, "Coo, Coo, Coo" and "The Smallest Pony,"(?) and a puppet show, which unfortunately I came in on the end of, and many many praises for our feathered friends.
There was also a very large human pigeon (bottom lower left in drawing), but no actual pigeons! Hard to believe because Central Park is overflowing with them, but not that day! So, I've attached a second pigeon drawing since there were no pigeons attending the ceremonies!

it's great to see it large
Now I feel bad that I didn't buy presents for any of the pigeons in my neighborhood on Pigeon Day. Maybe next year. Even though I was remiss in celebrating, I'm really enjoying your sketch. These are some wonderful, expressive lines and the wash in the background really brings it together.
I love the combo of shapes and marks, Margaret. Beautiful. Maybe the Pigeons figured that they had the day off...
Marg you know I absolutely LOVE this drawing...
I love the drawing but I hate the pidgeons!
I don't know about NYC but here in Lisbon they have no predators. Pidgeons come on bilions, they nest live and die anywhere.
They rot buildings drainage pipes and buildings.
By lack of higiene lots of them are sick and ugly crawiling along the streets.
We call them rats with eagles.
Thanks for the comments everyone.
I agree Mel, I think the pigeons decided they needed a holiday!
I say rats with wings. Sorry.
I figured that's what you meant Pedro. Sounds like they're a real problem in Lisbon!
