Bangkok

Bangkok Traffic
Once again, I was back to this magic land of slow-motion one evening, litterally, a very slow move in my seven seater KIA. The traffic was at its usual maddening peak after office hour. Each stop gave me a good 10 minutes of leisure sketching, and yes, I had many stops to re-adjust my bearing. Each stop brought me to a new spot not very far from the last one. It's tricky though!
The sketch was done in the traffic and of course, I did the colorwash at home, after a few months interval. You don't expect me to give a color wash in the car as well, do you?
A5 sketchbook: pen, brushpen, watercolor wash and MUSEUM watercolor stick.

How extraordinary - a terrifyingly difficult subject matter, so cleverly (and excitingly) done in such tricky circumstances!

Whilst I suppose it's obvious, as you say, that you must have added the colour later, it's so masterfully done that you would swear it was done from observation!

thank you all, indeed, i was overwhelmed and grateful for all the kind words, thank you once more..
i do most sketches that would not take much time, likt the process as it did not have to be realistic and give me rooms to make up with what i feel comfortable. I guess drawing in the traffic is best to improve such technic ;-) (don't do it too often though!)
allow me to correct myself, most roads in Bangkok are hundred time better than this stretch of road (linking Sukhumvit, already notorious for heavy traffic, to Ratchada, the largest entertaining strip). it used to be a lovely quiet small road world of different from now but is still a very charming and popular Asoke Road despite the traffic...
thanks all again for the comments, i am glad you like and enjoy the sketch...
