Tough weather but fun sketching

snowmelting122808m

I didn't get much out of the house during the recent unusual snow storms. Here you can see my kids playing outside when the snow finally started to melt.

And this is another sketch done at the tail end of the storms. I was out on a lunch break and I saw the Rainier Beer truck making a stop. I had been wanting to sketch it for a while. It was cold and just starting to rain but I found enough cover and did a quick sketch. My pen got wet from the rain half-way through it, that's why some parts are hard to read.

I get to feel the cold and I specially like the top one with the kids and the bare trees in the background

I love these winter drawings, Gabi, especially the ones of your kids playing in the snow. They bring back memories of my own childhood, when the New York winters used to include a lot more snowflakes! I also like the rained out sections of your truck drawing...

fun-fun in the winter! :) Hope 2009 will be as much fun and cool to keep up with urbansketchers as it started to be in 2008! Great work Gabi! Thanks for everything

Respect due for sketching in these conditions! Keep it up-the cold gives an urgency to sketching that makes for interesting, spontaneous drawings.

Beautiful. I like the colors in teh the first one - they really make the scene look "snowy".

I just love the way you handle the pen with straight one-liners!

I really like the one with the children!
